Quando fu costruito, nel 1929, era il più grande e lussuoso albergo di tutto il Commonwealth britannico. Qui, nel 1997, scesero la Regina Elisabetta e Filippo d'Edimburgo in visita in Canada. Nei suoi saloni si tengono balli delle debuttanti e convention politiche dove si decidono i destini della nazione. E' il Fairmont Royal York Hotel, cuore del lusso e della vita pubblica di Toronto. E di quella economica. Perché da quasi un secolo è qui che businessmen e banchieri trattano affari di milioni di dollari, a due passi dalla Borsa e in faccia alla Union Station, nelle sale ad accesso riservato del 19° piano dove, grazie a Catherine Tschannen che è a capo del marketing ,ho potuto scattare le foto che vedete. 

Sono stati giorni meravigliosi, che vi racconterò nei prossimi post.

When it was built in 1929 it was the biggest and most lavish hotel of the British Commonwealth. In 1997 Queen Elizabeth and prince Philip of Edinburg decided to stay here during their Canadian visit. Countless debutants balls and political conventions were held in its grand halls. Is the Fairmont Royal York Hotel centre of the political and economical life of Toronto because of its closeness with the stock exchange and union station. This happens in the members only area at the 19th floor where these pictures were shoot thanks also to Catherine Tschannen in charge of the marketing.These have been amazing days I will tell you more about in the next posts.
